Biography

ROBERT KERR's produced plays include The End of the Road (The Juilliard School; also finalist for the Abingdon Theater's Christopher Brian Wolk Award and the Trustus Playwrights Festival), The Potato Creek Chair of Death (Ensemble Studio Theatre, published by Playscripts Inc.), The Sticky-Fingered Fiancée (with composer Mat Eisenstein, Raw Impressions Musical Theatre and Bedlam Theatre) To Whom (Brick Theater, Brooklyn), and The Squizzinator (Project Y Theatre).  His play Kingdom Gone was translated into Russian as part of a new Lark Play Development Center program and received readings at Teatr.doc in Moscow and in Yekaterinburg and Perm, Russia.  The Crooked Mansion was a finalist for the 2016-17 Woodward/Newman Drama Award.  A recorded reading of End Times is scheduled to be released as part of 12 Peers Theatre’s Modern Myths podcast series in September 2016.  In Search Of...Sasquatch, Kingdom Gone, The End of the Road, The Living Section, Meet Uncle Casper and End Times have been developed at the Lark, the Actors Studio, Playwrights Horizons, id Theater's Seven Devils Playwrights Conference, Thingamajig Theater, the Great Plains Theater Conference, the Inkwell, and the O'Neill Playwrights Conference.  He was also a playwriting fellow at Juilliard, a Jerome Fellow at the Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis, and a founding member of Bedlam Theatre in Minneapolis, which produced his plays This the Word, The Secret Word for Today Is Carrot and Six Characters in Search of Water.  He is coordinator of id Theatre's playwrights' group, id-iots at Play.
