High school student Dan Wilson is questioning his faith. While he contends with the reactions of his religious mother and girlfriend, he works through his doubts in fantasy scenes that put a comic spin on the Bible, classical literature and pop culture. Finally, in a job interview, Dan must decide whether to be truthful about his religious skepticism or hide his doubts in order to get the job.

"All the episodes are funny, with a sharp satiric barb in many of them, and the ending ... is neatly inconclusive."
--The New Yorker
